RED CARPET

"Red Carpet" is a site-specific performative intervention created for public spaces. It is made for an audience that happens to pass by randomly. Someone discovers a body installed under a red carpet totally by chance; the event is not revealed to the public and the audience is not invited beforehand. The associations that the audience forms while watching, and the thoughts evoked when they almost step on the body, raise questions about priority and the underprivileged, questioning the capitalist system. The intervention explores the two extremes and the possible alternatives for balancing goods and opportunities for a certain quality of life in our current socio-cultural environment.
