STITCH BY STITCH
"Stitch by Stitch" is a continuous life process where artistic practice serves as a means for the individual to reconnect with herself. It emerges after periods of intense disorientation, where the body and identity lose their solidity and boundaries—a state that can be described as an extreme state of consciousness.
Whenever the author senses the onset of this extreme state, she turns to sewing. This practice becomes a grounding force, allowing her to reconnect with her essence, integrate fragmented experiences, recalibrate, and hold herself and overwhelming experience with care.
Day by day, stitch by stitch, the process unfolds. The author stitches together fragments of fabric cut from colorful clothes, creating an integrated whole: a dress that becomes a protection against external stimuli.Â
This dress is a space of gentleness, comfort, within this colorful cocoon, a microcosm of safety is constructed. It provides a sense of wholeness, preventing the self from falling apart and scattering in an unpredictable world.
This artistic act of stitching is both a metaphor and a method for holding oneself together, stitch by stitch.

Stitching started as a solo process of creating a dress at home and continued until now in various contexts.
In the last years, we have been sewing dress collectively as a gesture of community supporting the individual in need. The sewing has become a performative action and participatory installation.
